Brig Syed Dilawar Abbas Rizvi ® graduated from Army Medical College in December 1983 and got commissioned in Armed forces. He is included in first five pioneer’s fellows (FCPS 1992) of Dermatology in Pakistan. He is a regularly a paper setter, paper assessor and clinical Examiner of the subject by CPSP and remained Dean of the faculty of Dermatology of CPSP from 2011 to 2015. He was retired from MH Rawalpindi in 2016 and now spending his time in providing state of the Art clinical and surgical services to patients of Rawalpindi and rural areas.
He jointly hold the honor of taking the initiative of planning and organizing the first ever National Intensive preparatory course for Dermatology Candidates appearing in MCPS, MD and FCPS Examination in April 2005 with Brig Rehan Uddin. Since then, despite his postings in other cities, he always spared his time and travelled to the course venue at Karachi and then at Lahore from his city of posting. He is the only facilitators of this Course, who had been contributing consistently in all Courses other than Brig Rehan Uddin consistently. His altruism about the course can be judged by the fact that he always refused any remuneration and travelled at his own expenses.
Brig Dilawar has special interest in cutaneous surgical techniques and Mohs micrographic surgery of Basal Cell carcinoma. He is a very sharp clinician who enjoys dealing difficult and undiagnosed Dermatological Patients and all major Institutions in his city rely on him for management of difficult patients.
